Are You Considering Sending Your Kids To Sleep Away Camp

In order to send your children off to sleep away camp properly you need to give yourself enough time to plan accordingly.  Most camps send out a packing list.  The packing list will tell you exactly what you need to send your child to camp with.  This is a good list to go by.  It lets you know about how many t-shirts to buy etc.  However I always come up with other important things they “need” to take along – a fan, a first aid kit, and stationary – for all of the letter writing…  Then there is another list from the kids of their “necessary” take along items like an IPod, sports equipment, spending money, food, drinks etc.

One thing is for sure that whatever it is that they are taking along with them, aside for all the junk food, everything must be labeled.  If there is any chance of having the items coming back home at the end of the summer then you must label everything.  Labels are easily available online.  You can choose from iron-on labels or sew on labels.  It’s your choice. I prefer the iron on labels.  They are so simple to attach.  By applying the pressure of the iron atop of the label for a couple of seconds, the label will be attached securely.  I have found that these labels stick to the clothing, laundry bag, caps, linen and all types of fabrics securely and for a long time. Even after washing the clothing numerous times the labels stayed attached and looked as good as new.  You can choose to include personal information on the labels such as your family name and phone number and even include camp name and bunk id.  I would suggest also purchasing waterproof stickers to attach to many other personal belongings such as water bottles, cameras, shoes and slippers.  It take a lot of time effort and money to send your child off to camp, therefore it’s worthwhile to plan and prepare accordingly.
